New year, new dawn, new hope - 1432 has come at the call of the new; Happy Bengali New Year. Leaving behind the dilapidated and gloomy, Baishakh has come to the door again.
The first hour of Baishakh makes the hearts of Bengalis cheerful. Basically, after the New Year's Eve of the Chayanaut in Ramna, the main attraction of the New Year is the fair, the organization of Panta-Ilisha along with the procession of the Dhaka University Fine Arts.
‘New Year’s Harmony, End of Fascism’ is the theme of 1432. In light of this theme, the procession will highlight the traditional cultural heritage and folk culture of Bengal. The name has been ‘New Year’s Joyful Procession’.
Folk traditions and the diversity of the spirit of ‘July 24’; universal participation; large-scale procession; 28 ethnic groups, colorful programs; New Year’s Joy; The procession will have seven major motifs, seven medium motifs and seven minor motifs.
Various entertainments including Nagardola, puppet dance, procession, folk song festival on the traditional Baishakh. A reflection of a wonderful gathering of Bengali heritage, culture and harmony.
In different parts of the country, every Bengali organizes various traditional Baisakhi fairs, Charui Bhati, Bioscope, Bengali traditional food Panta-Ilish, Ilish Polao, Ilish Khichuri, as well as various types of local food, including Bharta, Pitha-Puli, Hawaiian sweets.
The rural Baisakhi fair displays local agricultural products, handicrafts, folk crafts, cottage industry products, handicrafts and pottery products, toys and various folk foods, and various festivals.
The celebration of Bengali New Year began mainly during the time of the Muslim emperor Akbar. The Bengali year, which came into effect in 1556, was initially known as the harvest year. Later, it was known as the Bangabd.
