Autorickshaws will not run on main roads: DMP Commissioner
DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali said that from now on, no autorickshaws will run on main roads.
He gave this instruction in a meeting with battery-operated rickshaw drivers, owners, garage owners and a delegation of the Rickshaw-Van-Easy Bike Workers Union at the DMP Headquarters on Wednesday (November 27). He also said that even if autorickshaws do not run on main roads, these vehicles will run on internal roads as before. He urged everyone to be vigilant so that no new autorickshaws enter the capital's roads.
Ariful Islam Nadim, Joint General Secretary of the Rickshaw Easy Bike Workers Union, said that we have agreed to the call from the police that battery-operated rickshaws should not run on main roads where buses operate.

Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Md. Israel Hawlader, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Khondaker Nazmul Hasan, along with DMP officials of various ranks and representatives of battery-powered rickshaw drivers, owners, garage owners and Rickshaw-Van-Easy Bike Workers Union of various police stations in Dhaka were present.
The Chamber Court has given a one-month stay on the High Court's order to suspend the High Court's verdict banning battery-powered rickshaws and the order given by the High Court on November 25. A delegation of DMP Commissioners, rickshaw drivers and owners sat for the discussion (Wednesday).
