New Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh

AMM Nasir Uddin's appointment as the new Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh:

  1. New CEC Appointment: AMM Nasir Uddin has been appointed as the Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh.

     


     

  2. Other Election Commissioners: Along with Nasir Uddin, four other commissioners have been appointed: Anwarul Islam, Abdur Rahman, Begum Tahmida Ahmed, and Brigadier General Abul Fazal Sanaullah.

     


     

  3. Official Appointment: The appointments were made through two notifications issued by the President, signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Sheikh Abdur Rashid.

  4. Date of Appointment: The appointments were officially announced on Thursday, December 21, 2024.

  5. Nasir Uddin's Career: Nasir Uddin is a former secretary who served in various capacities, including as Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources and Ministry of Health.

  6. Retirement: He retired from the civil service in January 2009.

  7. BCS Administration: AMM Nasir Uddin is from the 1979 batch of the BCS (Administration) cadre.
